Bahrain’s MICE and tourism sector continues to gain momentum with Meliá Hotels International announcing its first property in the Kingdom, set to open on Amwaj Island in 2027.

The upscale development will include 150 hotel rooms and 106 branded residences, along with flexible meeting spaces and event venues designed to host executive retreats, conferences, and incentive groups. Strategically located near Bahrain International Airport, the hotel is poised to serve as a new hub for international business travelers and event planners.

The project aligns with Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, which prioritises expanding the country’s MICE infrastructure and attracting global investors to its rapidly evolving hospitality market.
