Travco Delivers GITEX Programme for Barq Systems in Dubai

Dubai’s ability to support citywide events was evident during GITEX Global 2025, where Travco Holidays managed a corporate programme for Barq Systems.

With a 30-member delegation in-market, the programme extended beyond exhibition participation to include B2B meetings, client engagements, and internal networking sessions — reflecting a broader shift toward more integrated corporate agendas.

Managing Accommodation During Peak Demand

Citywide events like GITEX typically place pressure on hotel inventory, particularly around the Dubai World Trade Centre. To navigate this, Travco secured accommodation across multiple properties, including InterContinental Dubai Festival City, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, Renaissance Business Bay Hotel, and Rove City Walk.

This distributed approach allowed for flexibility while maintaining access to both the exhibition venue and key meeting locations.

“Managing programmes during GITEX requires strong supplier relationships and detailed pre-planning,” says Mona Abdel Latif. “Coordinating accommodation and transfers in real time is important to ensure a smooth experience for clients.”

Coordinating Movement Across the City

Alongside accommodation, transport planning played a key role, particularly given traffic conditions during the event. Travco worked with local partners to coordinate transfers between hotels, the exhibition venue, and meeting locations.

Partnerships with booking platforms such as TBO and Webbeds supported sourcing and flexibility, while on-ground coordination allowed for schedule adjustments where required.

A Shift Toward Integrated Programmes

Barq Systems’ approach reflects a wider shift in how companies are using global exhibitions — combining business development with internal engagement and networking within a single programme.

For organisers, this is driving demand for programmes that balance structure with flexibility, accommodating multiple objectives within a single visit.
