A vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and thoughtful design unfolded at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi, as Meera and Mohit Gurnani hosted their multi-day wedding festivities for over 300 guests in April. Curated by wedding planning and design company Splendid Surprises Wedding & Events, the celebrations seamlessly blended the couple’s Gujarati and Sindhi heritage with immersive experiences and distinctive visual storytelling.
The festivities began with a lively mehndi celebration designed as a floral carnival, paying homage to both families’ cultural roots. Bursting with colour, entertainment, and personalised details, the event set the tone for the celebrations that followed.
For the sangeet, the venue was transformed into an enchanted garden inspired by Meera’s vision of a dreamy, nature-led celebration. Delicate butterfly motifs were thoughtfully woven throughout the décor, creating an atmosphere of whimsy and elegance. Lush florals, ambient lighting, and immersive design elements brought the concept to life, offering guests a memorable evening experience.
The wedding ceremony embraced a serene pastel palette against the backdrop of the Arabian Gulf. A transparent mandap was strategically designed to preserve uninterrupted views of the venue’s grand staircase and sweeping sea vistas, allowing the architecture and natural surroundings to become part of the celebration. The result was a sophisticated setting that balanced understated elegance with striking visual impact.
