Saudi Arabia continues to expand its hospitality landscape with a new wave of hotel openings reflecting ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030, which positions tourism, culture and business events as key economic drivers.

Here are the key hotel openings recently announced across Saudi Arabia.

  1. Rixos Murjana

Rixos Murjana Resort in King Abdullah Economic City, spread across 275,000 square metres along the Red Sea, will become the largest all-inclusive destination in the kingdom, offering 488 rooms and suites, overwater villas at Club Privé, and a 600-metre private beach.

A major highlight is Saudi Arabia’s first fully integrated water park, spanning 42,000 square metres with 11 slides, three pools, kids’ areas, and multiple dining outlets, designed with sustainability features aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative 2030. For events, the property will offer a 2,800-square-metre ballroom and flexible outdoor spaces.

    2. InterContinental The Red Sea

IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially opened InterContinental The Red Sea Resort on Shura Island, becoming the second operational resort at the Red Sea destination. Located just 25 minutes from Red Sea International Airport, the property offers 178 rooms and 32 suites within a masterplan designed by Foster + Partners.

For MICE planners, the resort combines premium accommodation with experiential elements, private beaches, water sports, diving, Spa InterContinental and curated dining, making it suitable for high-end retreats, leadership offsites and incentive programmes in an emerging destination.

    3. Fanaya Hotel

Brassbell Hospitality Group has made its Saudi Arabian debut with the launch of the Fanaya Hotel in Jeddah, the first property under its new Fanaya brand. Inspired by the Arabic roots of fan and fann, the brand focuses on creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural expression, shaped in collaboration with local agency WTL.

    4. Hilton Hotel Damman

Aleph Hospitality has announced its expansion into Saudi Arabia with a new Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel in Dammam, marking its third property under the brand. The 84-room hotel, owned by AREA Investment and Real Estate, will bring Hilton’s boutique-style, locally inspired hospitality to the heart of the city.

Designed to blend contemporary comfort with regional character, the hotel will offer upscale rooms, multiple dining options, meeting spaces and wellness facilities, catering to both corporate guests and leisure travellers exploring the Eastern Province.

    5. Sofitel Riyadh and Convention Center

Sofitel has expanded Riyadh’s meetings landscape with the opening of Sofitel Riyadh Hotel & Convention Centre. Located in the upscale Ar Rahmaniyyah district and connected to the King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Mosque, the hotel offers 388 rooms and suites and a convention centre with 17 flexible meeting rooms, making it well suited for conferences and corporate events. The property is 35 minutes from King Khalid International Airport and close to key city landmarks, including Kingdom Centre and Diriyah.

For MICE planners, these openings signal a market that is rapidly maturing, backed by long-term government strategy and investment.
