Marriott International has signed a landmark multi-property agreement with Sun Group to develop 10 new hotels and resorts across Phu Quoc and Vung Tau, adding nearly 4,500 keys to Vietnam’s fast-expanding hospitality pipeline.

The deal, spanning eight brands, will mark the Vietnam debut of W Hotels and Moxy Hotels, with openings scheduled between 2026 and 2030 as part of Sun Group’s integrated destination developments.

“Vietnam is one of the world’s most dynamic travel markets, and this agreement reflects our long-term commitment to building scale in destinations that are rapidly evolving into global event and tourism hubs.”

Destination-Led Growth Aligned with APEC 2027

Seven properties will anchor Phu Quoc, including The Westin, Le Méridien, and Courtyard by Marriott, with a flagship cluster at Ruby Beach tied to APEC 2027. The developments are designed as part of a wider ecosystem integrating hospitality, infrastructure, and large-scale event venues.

Expanding Coastal Access in Vung Tau

Three additional properties in Vung Tau will form part of the Blanca City development, positioning the destination as a high-access beachfront extension of Ho Chi Minh City, supported by new airport connectivity.

A Shift Toward Integrated MICE Ecosystems

For planners, the Marriott–Sun Group partnership signals a broader shift toward master-planned destinations where hotels, venues, and experiences operate as a unified offering. With Vietnam’s hospitality pipeline accelerating, Phu Quoc in particular is emerging as a high-capacity hub for international events, incentives, and large-format gatherings.
