Accor has strengthened its presence in the Dominican Republic, signing multiple hotel development agreements during Dominican Republic Week in Paris. The group’s pipeline now comprises 23 projects representing nearly 6,000 rooms, more than 1,000 branded residences and the potential creation of up to 9,000 direct jobs.
The expansion spans urban, business and leisure destinations, with developments planned across Miches, Cabo Engaño, Samaná Bay, Juan Dolio, Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. The portfolio includes brands such as Swissôtel, Pullman, Novotel, Grand Mercure, Mövenpick, TRIBE and ibis, catering to different market segments.
Among the key developments is Pullman Juan Dolio, planned with 400 rooms alongside a 4,000-seat convention centre, aimed at attracting international meetings, conferences and events. In Punta Cana, upcoming Novotel and ibis Styles properties will cater to both business and leisure travellers, while new ibis and ibis budget agreements aim to extend internationally branded accommodation beyond the country’s established resort areas.
Camil Yazbeck, Global Chief Development Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy, Accor, said the Dominican Republic presents significant opportunities as tourism demand and infrastructure investment continue to grow. He highlighted the group’s multi-brand portfolio as a way to address diverse traveller needs across urban and resort destinations.
Supported by Dominican and international investors, the expansion reinforces Accor’s strategy to broaden its regional footprint while contributing to tourism development, employment and investment opportunities across the country.
