Tamarind Global Weddings showcased the traditions and contemporary possibilities of Indian weddings at DWP Congress 2026, hosting the event’s gala dinner as the Main Gala Dinner Event Partner. Tamarind Global Holidays served as the Main DMC Partner, managing transportation and logistics for the international gathering of wedding planners and industry professionals.

Held at Jashn Bagh, Fairmont Udaipur, the evening featured a specially constructed, air-conditioned venue spanning approximately 15,000–20,000 sq ft, designed to accommodate around 300 guests. The programme brought together traditional Indian wedding rituals, regional performances, contemporary entertainment and immersive décor.

The celebrations opened with a 45-minute Baraat, introducing guests to the colour, music and energy of an Indian wedding procession. Inside the venue, design elements drew on Indian customs and symbolism, incorporating floral arrangements, lighting, traditional textiles, brass accents and banana leaves.

Interactive experiences included a Mauli Wishing Tree, where guests could tie sacred threads and make wishes, alongside a Shree Yantra-inspired seating arrangement symbolising harmony and union. A Doli photo opportunity, as well as Sindoor and Mangalsutra ceremonies accompanied by fireworks, added further cultural elements to the evening.

Entertainment combined traditional Indian performance with contemporary influences. Ghoomar Meets West presented a modern interpretation of the Rajasthani folk dance, while Chhau showcased the martial traditions of Indian dance. Electro Bharatanatyam brought together classical movement and contemporary sounds, before live band A26 took over for the evening’s later celebrations.

Speaking about the gala, Mahesh Shirodkar, Managing Director of Tamarind Global, said the intention was to present traditional wedding elements in a new setting, with the procession, design, performances and music taking guests through different moods inspired by the flow of an Indian wedding celebration.

The event also built on Tamarind Global Weddings’ Follow the Thread pre-event campaign, which gradually revealed elements of the gala concept, including its venue, décor, entertainment and signature Mauli thread.

Through the gala dinner, Tamarind Global Weddings presented an interpretation of Indian wedding celebrations that combined cultural traditions with contemporary event production, offering international wedding professionals an immersive introduction to the country’s diverse wedding experiences.
