W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s luxury portfolio, has officially entered the Saudi Arabian market with the opening of W Riyadh – KAFD in the capital’s King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).

The new property features 210 guestrooms, including 17 suites, two penthouse suites, and the 390-square-metre W Penthouse, and is positioned as a luxury lifestyle destination combining design, dining and social experiences.

Designed by LW Design, the hotel draws inspiration from Saudi heritage through contemporary interpretations of Najdi textiles, Al Sadu weaving patterns, and locally commissioned artwork by Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem.

The hotel introduces several new dining concepts to Riyadh, including Sira, a Latin American-inspired restaurant, Beni, an all-day coffee house, and the WET Deck, an outdoor poolside venue. A fourth concept, Sahari, an outdoor lounge for live performances and social events, is scheduled to open later this year.

Commenting on the opening, Helen Leighton, Vice President, Luxury Brands, EMEA, said the launch marks a significant milestone for the brand’s expansion in the region and reinforces its commitment to redefining luxury lifestyle hospitality across the Middle East.

In addition to its leisure offerings, W Riyadh – KAFD includes the brand’s AWAY Spa, FIT fitness centre, 15 meeting rooms, and a ballroom, catering to both business and social events.

The opening marks W Hotels’ first property in Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom continues to expand its luxury hospitality offering in line with its broader tourism development strategy.
