The Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) will return to Kuala Lumpur in 2027, following a record-breaking edition in Pattaya. The 12th annual convention attracted 462 delegates from 44 countries, marking its highest attendance to date despite flight disruptions across the Gulf region.

Organised by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), the next edition will take place from 5–7 April 2027 at IOI Resort City, Putrajaya, hosted at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel. The destination is strategically located between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the city centre, reinforcing accessibility for international delegates.

“We are delighted to be able to take AGTC back to Malaysia next year, and to the magnificent destination of IOI Resort City and its flagship 18-hole golf course, the Palm Garden Golf Club.”

At AGTC 2026, 170 international golf tour operators engaged in two days of meetings with 172 suppliers, including golf resorts, hotels, inbound operators and tourism boards from across Asia Pacific, alongside long-haul destinations such as Europe, South Africa and North America. Around 230 delegates also participated in the golf tournament at Siam Country Club.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in the UK, IAGTO represents more than 2,700 accredited golf tour operators, resorts, hotels, and tourism boards across over 90 countries. The association plays a central role in shaping the global golf tourism ecosystem, facilitating business exchange through its portfolio of trade events and initiatives.

Beyond AGTC, IAGTO organises several flagship gatherings, including the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), held annually in leading European destinations, as well as regional conventions such as the North America Golf Tourism Convention (NAC) and the European Convention (IEC). These platforms collectively drive year-round engagement between buyers and suppliers across key source markets.

AGTC itself has been hosted across major golf destinations in Asia, including prior editions in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand, reflecting the region’s growing importance within the global golf tourism landscape.

The convention continues to play a key role in driving high-value golf tourism and strengthening international trade relationships, while positioning host destinations to showcase their infrastructure, courses, and broader travel experiences to a highly targeted global audience.
