Sofitel has officially opened the Sofitel Riyadh Hotel and Convention Centre, strengthening Riyadh’s hospitality and events infrastructure as demand for large-scale business and social events continues to grow in the Saudi capital.
Located in the Ar Rahmaniyyah district, the new property reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader focus on expanding hospitality capacity to support business travel, government activity and international events. The hotel comprises 388 rooms and suites and is anchored by what is being positioned as the largest luxury hotel convention centre in Riyadh.
At the centre of the development is the Princess Nouf International Convention Centre, offering nearly 8,500 square metres of flexible event space. The venue includes a grand ballroom, multiple breakout rooms and integrated event technology, and has the capacity to accommodate up to 4,000 guests. The convention centre is designed to host a wide range of formats, including conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings and large-scale social events.
The opening adds significant high-end event capacity to Riyadh’s MICE landscape at a time of increasing demand from both regional and international organisers. With its scale and central location, the facility is positioned to serve government, corporate and association events, as well as international organisations seeking premium venues in the Saudi capital.
Food and beverage offerings form a key component of the events proposition, supporting conferences, banquets and social functions. The hotel operates several dining venues, including Thu-rya, a contemporary Lebanese restaurant, and Zeline, an all-day dining venue offering international cuisine. La Matinée functions as a tea lounge, focusing on tea service and pastries.
